1. What does the title mean in relation to the film as a whole?
From the title itself, it is where the scenes happen as the couple travels along the North Diversion Road.
2. Why does the film start in the way that it does?
This is to give an idea about the scenario on the unfaithfulness of the husband.
3. Are there any motifs (scenes, images) of dialogue which are repeated? What purpose do they serve?
Yes when the wife always asks his husband what does he feels and why his husband cheated on her. The purpose of it is to let the viewers know, how to value a relationship.
4. Is sound used in any vivid ways either to enhance the film? (i.e. Enhance drama, heighten tension or conflict, disorient the viewer, etc.)
Yes, sound effects are used a bit. But natural sounds are present, but it adds up the emotion.
5. How does the film use color or light/dark to suggest tone and mood in different scenes?
They used light colors to represent funny scenes and dark colors for sad scenes.
6. How and when are scenes cut? Are there any patterns in the way the cuts function?
The entire scenes stop when the couple stops arguing. Yes the movie has a pattern in each scene.
7. What specific scene constitutes the film's climax? How does this scene resolve the central issue of the film?
I think the climax of the story is when the wife suffered from a mental disorder because of unfaithfulness of her partner and that made her husband guilty about it.
8. Does the film leave any disunities (loose ends) at the end? If so, what does it suggest?
For me yes, the film suggests that cheating on your partner will not make your life happier but will only tear your relationship apart. So, if you don’t want to ruin your life never ever cheat on your partner.
9. Why does the film conclude on this particular image?
The film concludes this particular image for us to know that we should be faithful to our love ones in order to have a successful relationship and be aware of the consequences of cheating in a relationship.

1. It shows the setting of the film and the scenario is really related to the film.
2. To introduce the title of the film and to show that the film occurred in the north diversion road.
3. Yes. There is a scene and dialogue that was repeated. It is where the husband and wife is in the car and the wife always say before the new episode comes is "Ano ba'ng iniisip mo?, magkwento ka naman."
4. Yes. The sound helped in making some of the scenes of the film look more realistic just like the sound of a moving car.

1. The title of the film shows the connection between the film title and the scenarios.
2. It started that way to introduce the title of the film.
3. Yes. There are dialogues and scenes that are repeated. It is when the couples are in the car and before the start of a new episode, the wife will say, "Ano ba'ng iniisip mo?, magkwento ka naman."
4. The sound helped in enhancing the film. It made some of the scenes looked more realistic like the sound of a moving car.
5. It is used to helped the scene look more realistic and to express the setting.
6. Scences are cut after the couples gave solutions to their problems when they travel.
7. I think it is when the wife knew that his husband is in love with another woman. The scence is resolved when the husband and wife decided to end up their lives by by crashing the car they are riding.
8. I think yes. Maybe it suggests that the scence not yet finished.
9. To show that love gives happiness and pain. Finding love is like traveling on the North Diversion Road.

1.What does the title mean in relation to the film as a whole? The title Sa North Diversion Road connotes the infidelity of man in the course of his marriage. There is a diversion of his love from his wife to his mistress, and this adultery leads to different tragic events. Definitely, no marriage is perfect, and those imperfections can cause unfaithfulness. Ouch!
2.Why does the film start in the way it does? It is some kind of foreshadowing. It shows that the couple are about to discuss or argue on the husband’s infidelity. The wife already senses that there is something wrong with the way the marriage goes, and her husband goes on diversion.
3.Are there any motifs (scenes, images) of dialogue which are repeated? What purpose do they serve? The scene where the wife asks the husband what he is thinking of and convinces him to share his story with her. The conversations and confrontations happening while the husband and wife are inside the car. They try to emphasize how the couple deal with their problem.
4.Is sound used in any vivid ways either to enhance the film? (i.e. enhance drama, heighten tension or conflict, disorient the viewer, etc.) Yes, especially in the scene where the couple are arguing so loud, and they even used foul words.
5.How does the film use color or light/dark to suggest tone and mood in different scenes? Most scenes that are sad and tragic are partnered with dark colors e.g. the nervous breakdown of the wife. But light colors did not really mean that everything’s ok in the scene. Practically, the light colors showed the strong personalities of the characters, and the clash between the personalities proved unyielding so in the end, there is still tragedy.
6.How and when are scenes cut? Are there any patterns in the way the cuts function? The scenes are cut when the couple’s problem, husband’s infidelity to be exact, is exposed and somehow resolved. The scenes are cut in a way that they just fade out, and such fading gives the audience a puzzling impression.
7.What specific scene constitutes the film’s climax? How does this scene resolve the central issue of the film? The conversation of Tony and May wherein she speaks of her approval on Tony pursuing Sharmaine in the event May dies. This highlights the wife’s forgiveness and acceptance of her husband’s infidelity. As her days are being numbered, she only wants the best for his husband, and she will be happy to see him happy even in heaven.
8.Does the film leave any disunites (loose ends) at the end? If so, what does it suggest? I think so. For me, the disunite would be the dilemma of the husband whether he must leave his wife at her condition, pursue living with his mistress, or still be faithful to their marriage vows. This suggests that choosing one over the other is not an easy thing to do, and to the point that the movie has come to its end, the husband is still indecisive.
9.Why does the film conclude on this particular image? No marriage is perfect! But then, the film showed that having a mistress doesn’t necessarily mean that the husband fell out of love with his wife. He has just found something that his wife probably cannot provide. Still for some reasons, leaving her side will never be easy for the husband although she already sets him free.

1. What does the title mean in relation to the film as a whole? I think its symbolic in a sense that it depicts our life. It is long and winding with many exits and intersections. It's up to us where we choose to go or exit to pass. It's what we make it. 2. Why does the film start in the way that it does? To show the root of the issue. I mean, problems do always start up with stuff like that. 3. Are there any motifs (scenes, images) of dialogue which are repeated? What purpose do they serve? The fight between the couple and the issue--the husband's infidelity although each episode varies from another in a way that the couple confronts their problem based on their personalities. 4. Is sound used in any vivid ways either to enhance the film? (i.e. Enhance drama, heighten tension or conflict, disorient the viewer, etc.) Yes like the car's sound and the song that the main characters play at the end of the movie when the "reality" was finally revealed. 5. How does the film use color or light/dark to suggest tone and mood in different scenes? Dark when the situation is dramatic or serious while light whenever the scene is somewhat comical or light. 6. How and when are scenes cut? Are there any patterns in the way the cuts function? Usually, the scenes are cut whenever the couple are finally confronting the main issue of the story-- the husband's infidelity. 7. What specific scene constitutes the film's climax? How does this scene resolve the central issue of the film? I think it is when the real situation is finally revealed that the woman is sick and her husband is trying to make up for the pain he has inflicted his wife. I think its their confrontation as to the conflict of the story. 8. Does the film leave any disunities (loose ends) at the end? If so, what does it suggest? Yes, it ends with the couple driving on their way to a faith healer. I think it suggests the reality in life-- uncertainty of what was ahead of us. 9. Why does the film conclude on this particular image? I think it suggests that at the end of every journey, hardships and pains that we experience in life and when all our hope had finally gripped off from us, it is always to God whom we seek. We may be holding our own destiny but It is still His will we must follow.

1. North Diversion Road is the setting of the story. It is somewhat related to the story because the road has different exit points as same as what was happening in the story which shows different manner of confrontation between the couple. 2. The beginning of the story shows why the following scenes happened. The unfaithfulness of the husband caused the confrontations between him and his wife. 3. The scene where the wife asks his husband what he was thinking and if he wants to tell her was repeated several times. I think it serves as a sign for the viewers that a different kind of scene would follow. 4. The story mostly happened on the road, so natural sounds are used which adds more drama on the story. The sound used adds more emotion to the events happening. 5. The lighting sets the mood of the scenes. The color differs base on the scenes, whether it is serious or dramatic or funny. 6. The scenes usually end when the couple stops fighting. The husband always ends up guilty of his wife’s accusations. 7. I think the climax of the story was the part when the husband already knew that his wife was sick. The husband wanted badly to make up for all his faults but it was almost too late to do so, while the wife had already accepted her situation and even wanted her husband to go on with his life and have another wife. 8. I don’t think it was a loose end. The film conclude that in the end of every problem, no matter how big it was and no matter what difficulties you’ve gone through, although things might not happen as you wanted there would still be something good about it and something to learn from it. 9. Every relationship goes through trials but in the end only the couple could make things right. Once you’ve love someone, no matter what happen that love would never be lost.

1. The title is symbolic, that relationships are like the north diversion road and we were the driver. It depends on us which exit we will take, and this decision will affect our relationship to others. 2. The film start the way that it does, for us to know early, the topic of the film that it wants to discuss, the infidelity. It used flashback for us to be enlightened and lessen the confusion about what is the real problem in the film, how did it happened. 3. the film's motifs could be showing different kind of spouses. throughout the story, the husband thinks of different atributes his wife could be, like being emotional, vocal, serious, and even mentally challenge. the pupose of which is to show, that the husband could be a little thankful that his wife were none of thse he imagined, that at least they're exact opposite of his wife. 4. yes, it catches the viewer’s attention. It also intensifies the tension in the film. 5. The color of the film depends on the mood of the couple as to every scene they portray. During daylight hours, scenes become amusing whereas nighttimes it becomes solemn. 6. I think there is a pattern in scene cuts... After a discussion between the couple there is a period of silence. 7. For me the climax is when the scenes were no longer the imagination of the husband, it is when they were in the reality. 8. yes. it only shows that it is not very easy to find someone to marry. so it suggest that a person needs to make sure of his/her decisions in life especially in marriage. and also a couple needs to trust and be loyal to each other or else they will have disunity in their lives. 9. It just suggests us that we are the only person responsible for all the decisions that we have done.

1. the title is symbolic, just like the north diversion road, there is a lot of exit that we can choose from and it will determine the path that we will take in our life. 2. It tries to get our attention and interest. In addition, the first scene gave the overview of the story. It showed the problem which is about the unfaithfulness of the husband. 3. The repitition of a certain scene may be a motif. I also noticed that in every "part" of the film, the characters used the same car, the red one. The car may be show that the characters are going the same conflict and irony undergone by the main characters. 4. yes it is used to enhance the film. but also, it shows a more deeper meaning, and symbol. it is to make us understand the gravity of each situation. 5. Light is used in blissful scenes like the one in which the two couple is having fun with the husband’s mistake (it’s as if there’s something funny about that). On the other hand, darkness is used to hint the seriousness of a particular scene (i.e. scene in San Fernando Exit) 6. the scenes were cut when the wife in the story told her husband that she knew all the malicious acts that were being done by her husband. and it serves as a pattern to the story. 7. It is when he husband realizes his fault. the wife in the other hand has cancer and she wants his husband to marry his other woman. i think it resolves the central issue because in the end, they have reconciled. 8. yes, it did..i think they are made to let the viewers decide on what will be the ending.. 9. In a marriage, a woman walk in the straight isle and choosing the man at the end of it. Relationship should be like this, do not choose other roads if you already have a destination.

1. the title is where most of the scene was shoot. it is the symbol of the lead characters on what path they will take. 2. the film starts by showing the weakness of a man. being unfaithful. 3. i think the "car scene with different destination" means that in a life of a couple, there is time where misunderstanding happens with the same reason. 4. yes, the sound used enhanced the film. as if it is very natural. 5. yes. the lighting also coordinate with the mood of the characters. if the scene is low or sad the lighting becomes dark and pale. but if the scene is high and full of energy the lighting becomes light. it also enhance the film. 6. the scenes are cut when the wife stops talking after realizing of the reality that her husband has just sinned against her. it ends in a silence and a question. 7. i think its when the husband became unfaithful to his wife. tsk.. 8. the ending is not clear to me. did they end their lives?? if that happens, maybe it suggest that problems cannot solve with the wrong act like that. view problems with different perspective. 9. it shows the different posibilities when someone commits unfaithfulness to you. we need to think of the ways where we can find the peace of mind we need. and by viewing life as positively.

1. Sa North Diversion Road is the scene of the movie. It shows the relation that the road is analogous to life cycle of a person, to his or her past, present or even future. It has beginning and end, the entrance and exits, the road either has right or left turn and sometimes it has curve and straight path. To the film, person has the right to travel and assemble his life as to what he wants to be, but in the end of his alleyway there he’ll meet someone who’ll accompany in taking the way. 2. It started that way, because the director wants to express the scenes in an episodic scenario, for us to have knowledge in understanding the movie preview what is all about and the flow of the movie. 3. Yes, there are motifs presented in the movie. Just like the car that had been use in every episode, woman and man had been in different characters to gives us the idea of the movie, that both of them had been craving for love. They are used as a symbolic one for giving us background of the movie. The car is the home and the two person inside is the affection. Where in problems only exist inside. 4. Sounds are good characteristics of a film, because it adds action movement on the film, for the viewers guide in an episodic event. 5. The film uses light or dark color background of every scene in introducing the moods of each character. Light color is for the smooth flow of the theme of the movie, and dark color is for the row of relationship problem which is the infidelity of the husband. 6. Scenes are cut when the exchanging interpretation of the couples are done. The patterns initiate for the relation of the road where the exits are fast approaching. 7. The film’s climax is interpreted when the wife had been consulted to a doctor and the result is positive where in she’ll only live within six months. The problem had been resolve through the forgiveness of the wife to her husband. 8. Yes, the film suggests that you should forgive and forget everything, don’t make small problems as big as the globe, because everything will be alright and it is just only a challenge to prove that you can make it through the rain. The road will take just an hour to travel or minute and then after that you’ll approach the exit to enter in another road which you really belong. 9. The film concluded on a particular image for us to remind that every single steps is important, every hope is vital and every problem has a solution. oh wowh.
