1. What does the title mean in relation to the film as a whole? The title implies not only the setting of the film but also the stages of marriage. From the time you entered the relationship to the points of difficulties until the point of exit…
2. Why does the film start in the way that it does? It started that way to give the audience an overview of what the film is all about.
3. Are there any motifs (scenes, images) of dialogue which are repeated? What purpose do they serve? There are some scenes and images that I could point out like the situation, where majority of the episodes are alike, where the wife always asks about the infidelity of the husband and the car. The purpose of the repeating the inquiry of the wife about the infidelity of the husband is to relay the main topic of the film, while the car symbolizes home.
4. Is sound used in any vivid ways either to enhance the film? (i.e. Enhance drama, heighten tension or conflict, disorient the viewer, etc.) Yes yes yooh! However, in some point, especially on the episode about the two academes, I felt like I was watching a horror film because of the sound incorporated in the some particular scenes.
5. How does the film use color or light/dark to suggest tone and mood in different scenes? Light colors were used during funny and intense fights while dark colors were used on the more dramatic and serious modes.
6. How and when are scenes cut? Are there any patterns in the way the cuts function? Episodes were cut when they arrive near particular exits. Yes.
7. What specific scene constitutes the film's climax? How does this scene resolve the central issue of the film? Perhaps the film’s climax is when the wife suffered from insanity and the husband realized what he did.
8. Does the film leave any disunities (loose ends) at the end? If so, what does it suggest? Yes. Marriage is something you enter and there are some exit points and it’s up to you to decide when to let go.
9. Why does the film conclude on this particular image? Because in a marriage, its life depends only when they decides to finally get separated.

SANCHO, Alyssa Hasley M. AC052011. "SA NORTH DIVERSION ROAD", simply because it is the setting of the film. 2. Is it the talking inside the car scenes? Perhaps because its the only time and place where they have nowhere to go but to stay there and hopefully, to talk about each other. 3. "MANLOLOKO" Iv'e heard that a lot of times, even those words similar to it like "KALIWETE" Words that tell what the movie is all about. Unfaithfulness of one, heartbreak of the other. 4. As far as I remember, the noises during the scene where part of the film, noises since they are in highway. A little bit of effects was added up to make the viewers feel more the tension. 5. Whenever the mood of the characters are unhappy, or whenever conflict arises between the characters, it darkens. However, like the part when they are both happily discussing something, it lightens. 6. It cuts when they finish quarreling. Its usually the woman who stops first the talking, then the man wont say a word. Sometimes the quarreling ends when the husband chooses his wife, yet sometimes the other way around. Sometimes the wife forgives her man, yet sometimes she just couldn't do such. 7. Perhaps the climax was when the wife began to become insane, so out of her mind making her husband felt the "so-much-guilt". Because of such hard feeling of seeing his wife go "insane" because of his unfaithfulness, the husband began regretting what he did. He should not have done it for he had a wonderful wife back at home. 8. Disunities? Yes. It suggests a lot of things. First, the conflict would be resolved on how they would handle their problem: If they could forgive or they'll just forget. Who would he choose, would it be his wife or his mistress. His Mistress? Did he not love his wife anymore? Was it because of his wife? Was there something missing? Or was he just born with a heart on his *%#$%. In whichever case, it's always the UNFAITHFUL s' fault. He should have never did such.
9. LEARN FROM IT. TO SEE HOW A WOMAN SUFFER, WHEN HER MAN STICK AROUND WITH SOME OTHER WOMAN. @ OFF-TOPIC Never hold her hand, when your'e going to break her heart. Never ask how she feels, you won't even feel half of it. Never say "ILOVEYOU", if all you meant were lies. If you only knew what "Forever" means, I would have never seen her cry.
BITTER ako? Charing! ahahaha>

1. What does the title mean in relation to the film as a whole? .. The title is not only the setting of the film; but also a symbol of the relationship of two persons, and the stages they may undergo as they welcome the life of a married couple. 2. Why does the film start in the way that it does? .. i guess it's the director's style of getting the attention and interest of the audience. In addition, the first scene gave the overview of the story. It showed the problem which is about the unfaithfulness of the husband.
3. Are there any motifs (scenes, images) of dialogue which are repeated? What purpose do they serve? .. Yes..The scene where the wife keeps on questioning her husband's silence is repeated before another episode is shown. Maybe the purpose is to emphasize that the following episodes are just imaginations of her husband..and those imaginations are actually the different possible ways that real life couples may face their problem of infidelity.
4. Is sound used in any vivid ways either to enhance the film? (i.e. Enhance drama, heighten tension or conflict, disorient the viewer, etc.) .. yes, because the sound enhanced every situations portrayed. you can actually feel the mood and tone of each scene by listening. Moreover, the variations of the sound made it avoid boredom.5. How does the film use color or light/dark to suggest tone and mood in different scenes? .. Other than sound, the effect of lighting further heightened each mood and tone. Light colors were used on funny scenes (exaggerated intonations, hysterical laughs, silent but sadist fight, intense verbal fight)..Dark colors, on the other hand, are used on more serious and dramatic scenes.6. How and when are scenes cut? Are there any patterns in the way the cuts function? ..Yes. Episodes were cut after every each side's defense is said..7. What specific scene constitutes the film's climax? How does this scene resolve the central issue of the film? .. I think the climax is when May became insane because of what happened, and tony finally realized what he has done. 8. Does the film leave any disunities (loose ends) at the end? If so, what does it suggest? .. Yes because the film didn't really show what happened after their conversation..Maybe it suggests that though some things seem certain, changes can still occur..life is unpredictable..so as marriage..and that no matter how big the problem may be, and it seems like the only solution is to escape, the decision is really up to you..you choose your ending.9. Why does the film conclude on this particular image? .. North Diversion road, as we know it, is a smooth and almost straight way. I guess that's how it works when the couple is harmoniously living together, and that's how it should be..But if it doesn't work out, you actually have a choice..and it's either you take the exit to run away from problems, or you face it, together with your partner.

1. What does the title mean in relation to the film as a whole?
The setting of the film is in the North Diversion Road. The different exits shown in the film depicts the different characters portrayed in the film. These characters shows how people act in a situation given they are in different places.
2. Why does the film start in the way that it does?
To foreshadow what is going to happen in the story. It also shows the conflict of the husband and wife. It also shows the irony that even the couple had a good relationship, the husband still cheated.
3. Are there any motifs (scenes, images) of dialogue which are repeated? What purpose do they serve?
The repitition of a certain scene may be a motif. I also noticed that in every "part" of the film, the characters used the same car, the red one. The car may be show that the characters are going the same conflict and irony undergone by the main characters.
4. Is sound used in any vivid ways either to enhance the film? (i.e. Enhance drama, heighten tension or conflict, disorient the viewer, etc.)
Even though sound effects were used, still natural sounds dominate the scene. These natural sounds contribute to viewers to further feel the emotion instilled in the film.
5. How does the film use color or light/dark to suggest tone and mood in different scenes?
When the scene depicts a serious tone, the colors are dark but when it suggest a funny/humurous tone, the colors are light.
6. How and when are scenes cut? Are there any patterns in the way the cuts function?
Before the start of every "part" pf the film, there is that always repeated scene, after that, a moment of silence and then the start of the "part" of the film.
7. What specific scene constitutes the film's climax? How does this scene resolve the central issue of the film?
The climax is reached when the couple is arguing about husband's mistress. Then the wife starts to open up her emotions to her husband.
8. Does the film leave any disunities (loose ends) at the end? If so, what does it suggest?
The disunities in the film is that the couple has issues even though the had that "ideal" marriage. That may be an irony in the film.
9. Why does the film conclude on this particular image?
Marriage is the sacred union between a man and a woman. God united them. They should not end up in divorce just because of in fidelity or their issues. They should try to work their relationship out.
Hahay....

1. What does the title mean in relation to the film as a whole?obviously, it suggests the settings of the film; but deeper than that, the title is also a symbol. 2. Why does the film start in the way that it does?actually, at first, i got very much confused about every scene. but then, i understood the real context of the story. it starts in such a way because maybe the director wants to deliver to the viewers the conflict, overview--- everything that the story is all about. 3. Are there any motifs (scenes, images) of dialogue which are repeated? What purpose do they serve?yes.. ;D one of the very clear motif is the repetition of the scene where the wife asks his husband about what he's thinking. this is to serve as an emphasis of what the director wants to convey - which is to show the flashback or somehow their imagination. 4. Is sound used in any vivid ways either to enhance the film? (i.e. Enhance drama, heighten tension or conflict, disorient the viewer, etc.)probably yes, the sound is a very vital element of a film, drama, etc. this is of course to entertain the viewers and also to express the real tone and mood of the scenes. 5. How does the film use color or light/dark to suggest tone and mood in different scenes?lighting is also very influential in emphasizing the mood and tone in every scene. this shows the feelings reigning in the atmosphere of the scenery. light colors express happiness, gladness. ;D. while dark colors express negative emotions. 6. How and when are scenes cut? Are there any patterns in the way the cuts function?yes.. it often cuts when their quarrel ends up. 7. What specific scene constitutes the film's climax? How does this scene resolve the central issue of the film?Maybe, it is when the husband felt guilty about what he had done because his wife got insane. 8. Does the film leave any disunities (loose ends) at the end? If so, what does it suggest?yes.. it has an open end..each and everyone of us has different perception about the story..different ending..maybe melodramatic or tragic.. 9. Why does the film conclude on this particular image?in marriage, two persons become one... so if trials come their way, they must face it together..fix it together.. and conquer it together.. that's what it must be. .. if not, the relationship won't work..somehow it would come into separation..and i feel bad about it...

Are there any motifs (scenes, images) of dialogue which are repeated? What purpose do they serve? 4. Is sound used in any vivid ways either to enhance the film? (i.e. Enhance drama, heighten tension or conflict, disorient the viewer, etc.) 5. How does the film use color or light/dark to suggest tone and mood in different scenes? 6. Why does the film conclude on this particular image? 1. well, the title signifies the message of the story..the message that the movie wants to say to us, the audience..
2. uhm..i think the movie started in the way it started, because it want to emphasize on the things that is really happening,by using flashback..
3. when the wife is asking his husband about the "anoh naiicip moh.." the purpose is to emphasize the flashback and to emphasize the couples feelings to each other..
4. yes, the sound, highten the tension, like the laughing scene..
5. well, uhm just like in the scene were the husband is confessing and the light was dark..
6. the scenes are cut in a way that all the confessions were done..but in a way that the scene is hanging..

1. What does the title mean in relation to the film as a whole? The title is also the setting of the movie but I think it also tells us that no matter how a person deny his sin, and no matter how a victim becomes angry, as the long conversation goes by, it will result in forgiveness and repentance because of love. 2. Why does the film start in the way that it does? To make the audience curious about the film and give an overview of what will happen. 3.Are there any motifs (scenes, images) of dialogue which are repeated? What purpose do they serve? There are some dialogue which are repeated. I think it means that there are consequences that will always hunt you because of the things you have done. And there are person who can force a person to tell the truth or simply the truth will set you free. (hehe) 4.Is sound used in any vivid ways either to enhance the film? (i.e. Enhance drama, heighten tension or conflict, disorient the viewer, etc.) No. The effects are too loud that we can't hear what they are saying and sometimes the tone of the soit is not related to the scene. 5.How does the film use color or light/dark to suggest tone and mood in different scenes? Lights are use according to the feelings of the characters or the theme of the scene. 6. How and when are scenes cut? Are there any patterns in the way the cuts function? The scenes are cut when they reach a particular exit to a city. They are patterned according to the sequence of the exits. 7. What specific scene constitutes the film's climax? How does this scene resolve the central issue of the film? When the wife becomes insane and the husband admit his mistake. 8. Does the film leave any disunities (loose ends) at the end? If so, what does it suggest? Yes. For me the movie tells us that you choose the road you will take, be careful not to get lost because it is hard to find the right route again. 9. Why does the film conclude on this particular image? In a marriage, a woman walk in the straight isle and choosing the man at the end of it. Relationship should be like this, do not choose other roads if you already have a destination.

ding jerrell zarate villones ac05201 ~:> 1. What does the title mean in relation to the film as a whole? north diversion.. for me, north means, going up. diversion, means in different stuff. so maybe, related to the film, while going on with life, we face different situations, and scenarios2. Why does the film start in the way that it does? to overview the conflict and the audience would understand the following scenes 3. Are there any motifs (scenes, images) of dialogue which are repeated? What purpose do they serve? the "kaliwete" and the scene where the woman ask the guy about what is on his mind. well it clearly explains the conflict and shows the imaginative side of the character. 4. Is sound used in any vivid ways either to enhance the film? (i.e. Enhance drama, heighten tension or conflict, disorient the viewer, etc.) yes it is used to enhance the film. but also, it shows a more deeper meaning, and symbol. it is to make us understand the gravity of each situation. 5. How does the film use color or light/dark to suggest tone and mood in different scenes? they are used somewhat ironically subsequent. if the scene is noisy, next is silent. they are used to make the scenes meaningful. 6. How and when are scenes cut? Are there any patterns in the way the cuts function? every exit of the north diversion road and when each time after the couple talk. the pattern, maybe the scenes all end when the girl finally says to the husband about his sin, and after that, they would cut the scenes 7. What specific scene constitutes the film's climax? How does this scene resolve the central issue of the film? its the last scene. it is where it was all clear. it resolve the central issue because they forgave each other already. 8. Does the film leave any disunities (loose ends) at the end? If so, what does it suggest? yes. but those loose ends leaves us, the audience to freely relate and react to themselves about the story. it leaves something. 9. Why does the film conclude on this particular image? i would like to take the line from the movie fireproof by sherwood (sir try to watch this film, its a good one, PROMISE!!!!!), "never leave your partner". being fireproof doesn't mean there's no fire coming. love is not a fight, but is something worth fighting for. . the movie shows us common problems of not only the filipinos, but as well as any husband and wife. we live in an evil world, and an unfair world. but as long as we, TOGETHER, with our husband or wife, stay strong, these things won't even scratch your relationship. that is what the power of love can give. what matters most is, in the end, you still accept everything, and it is not too late to change. as long as your willing, for your love one, it is never too late. sir, www.fireproofthemovie.comtry niyo po. manuk ranger ~:>

1.What does the title mean in relation to the film as a whole?
The title “Sa North Diversion Road” serves not only as the setting, but also as a symbol to the concept of the film.
2.Why does the film start in the way that it does?
It begins with a particular scene suggesting that there is one conflict or problem between the couple which is going to be resolved in the film. It also starts the way it does to imply that as the car goes by the different exits, many things could happen. 3.Are there any motifs (scenes, images) of dialogue which are repeated? What purpose do they serve?
Yes. To be particular, it is the scene wherein May is asking his husband Tony what is he thinking about. It serves as the header for every scenario we are going to witness. Also, without it, the story appears to be puzzling.
4.Is sound used in any vivid ways either to enhance the film? (i.e. enhance drama, heighten tension or conflict, disorient the viewer, etc.)
Yes, dramatic music is used in parts where Tony had finally known about his wife’s heartrending situation and how he was sorry about everything he’d done to her. Ominous sound is used when the two academicians are about to end their lives.
5.How does the film use color or light/ dark to suggest tone and mood in different scenes?
Light is used in blissful scenes like the one in which the two couple is having fun with the husband’s mistake (it’s as if there’s something funny about that). On the other hand, darkness is used to hint the seriousness of a particular scene (i.e. scene in San Fernando Exit) 6.How and when are scenes cut? Are there any patterns in the way the cuts function?
Scenes are cut when the problem (the infidelity of husband) is finally stated and is about to be settled.
7.What specific scene constitutes the film’s climax? How does this scene resolve the central issue of the film?
The climax of the film is shown by the scene where Tony had finally regret his unfaithfulness to his wife. Along with it is the feeling of guilt because his wife is dying and he has nothing to do to bring back all the time and opportunity that he has wasted.
8.Does the film leave any disunity (loose ends) at the end? If so, what does it suggest?
Yes, it is done to suggest that the resolution is still vague. People can assume of another ending.
9. Why does the film conclude on this particular image?
It finished off with an image (Amy and Tony together spending some of the remaining hours of the woman) to suggest that every mistakes in life, and every sins committed are forgivable. Yet, every wrongdoing has to be remunerated with a price with worth more of what we had taken, what we had enjoyed for doing such.
“So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Thererfore what God has joined together, let not man separate" Matthew19:6

1.What does the title mean in relation to the film as a whole? >> Aside from it depicts the setting of the movie/ story; it also represents the different sides and point of views of the protagonists in the movie (different exits). 2. Why does the film start in the way that it does? >> The film started with abstract scenes, and I think the main reason is that the director wanted its viewers to watch the film (up to its ending) and by doing so, they could understand the movie and the moral/ lessons it wants to convey. 3. Are there any motifs (scenes, images) of dialogue which are repeated? What purpose do they serve? >> …..car scenes….. purpose?? To show the different point of views of the couple as well as to emphasize the conflicts in the movie….. 4. Is sound used in any vivid ways either to enhance the film? (i.e. Enhance drama, heighten tension or conflict, disorient the viewer, etc.) >> ….. frankly speaking I hate the sound effects of the movie… why??? It’s too loud I can’t hear what the characters in the movie are saying ( o bingi lang talaga ako). Hmmm… but I think it did enhance the “drama” and comedy (the scene where the wife keeps on laughing) in the movie. 5. How does the film use color or light/dark to suggest tone and mood in different scenes? >> Light colors are used in scenes where in there is a mood of happiness (or silence maybe…), dark colors on the other hand are used on scenes where in there is a tension between the husband and the wife.. 6. How and when are scenes cut? Are there any patterns in the way the cuts function? >> Hmmm… actually I do like the cinematography of the film ( naks! may ganun! ), at first you would think that OMG! Anun un?? Ang gulo??? But I realized ( ngayon ngayon lang ) that every scene in the movie ends after the husband and the wife portrayed and showed their different point of views and there is indeed a patten… hahaha whatever…. 7. What specific scene constitutes the film's climax? How does this scene resolve the central issue of the film? >> Climax..... When the wife got insane… and her stupid husband felt guilty about it ( dapat nabaliw din yung husband para masaya ;D) 8. Does the film leave any disunities (loose ends) at the end? If so, what does it suggest? >> I saw a lot of scenes which are open ended, and I think it simply suggests that the journey (lives) of the husband and wife continues…. Sa South diversion road naman daw ( meron bang ganun??? ::)Hahaha) just kidding… 9. Why does the film conclude on this particular image? >> Marriage should be mutual….it is a give and take relationship…. ~melody marzan of AC05201~

1. What does the title mean in relation to the film as a whole? It is the setting of the movie, it also serves as a symbol in the film. 2.Why does the film start in the way that it does? hmm,,to give the audience an overview of what the film is about, to give a glimpse of the flow of the film 3. Are there any motifs (scenes, images) of dialogue which are repeated? What purpose do they serve? yes, there is a line that is repeated in the film "magkwento ka naman", to give emphasis to a thing, maybe the director wants to convey a message to the audience, like "communication is very important in a relationship" 4.Is sound used in any vivid ways either to enhance the film? (i.e. Enhance drama, heighten tension or conflict, disorient the viewer, etc.) Yes, the use of sounds like in the end of the movie, the song that was played inside the car is suited to the scene where in the couple expresses their love for each other, it helped the scene to be more romantic and to be filled with emotions. 5. How does the film use color or light/dark to suggest tone and mood in different scenes? The use of bright and lights colors can be seen in light/happy/funny scenes while the use of dark colors are visible during heavy/tragic/sad scenes 6.How and when are scenes cut? Are there any patterns in the way the cuts function? scenes are cut as they reach the end of a certain "exit" hmm,,after each side have explained his/her argument.. 7.What specific scene constitutes the film's climax? How does this scene resolve the central issue of the film? when the couple committed suicide, "death" resolved the issue in the film 8.Does the film leave any disunities (loose ends) at the end? If so, what does it suggest? yes, it does not show what happened to the wife, hmmm..it suggest that we can never tell what tomorrow will bring..life is unpredictable, but one thing's for sure, CHANGE IS CONSTANT. be it for better or for worse, its always and will always be constant. 9.Why does the film conclude on this particular image? hmm,,to tell us that we shouldn't perceive something as permanent, and that things will not always be the way they are, for someone to engage his/herself to something permanent as marriage in the eyes of our creator takes a lot of commitment and big big responsibilty, the trick is not to promise forever but to promise TODAY. No one can be certain of the future, one can just hope.
