Guide Questions to Critical Assessment of Sa North Diversion Road 1. What does the title mean in relation to the film as a whole? 2. Why does the film start in the way that it does? 3. Are there any motifs (scenes, images) of dialogue which are repeated? What purpose do they serve? 4. Is sound used in any vivid ways either to enhance the film? (i.e. Enhance drama, heighten tension or conflict, disorient the viewer, etc.) 5. How does the film use color or light/dark to suggest tone and mood in different scenes? 6. How and when are scenes cut? Are there any patterns in the way the cuts function? 7. What specific scene constitutes the film's climax? How does this scene resolve the central issue of the film? 8. Does the film leave any disunities (loose ends) at the end? If so, what does it suggest? 9. Why does the film conclude on this particular image? ;)ANSWER 1. The North diversion road potray the true image of a road. We can never get into a car and drive straightforward to our certain destinations without meeting road diversions, we all know that one road leads us to another place. like in the mind of a human being we cannot just maintain a specific personality; for every circumstances, there is a mask, a mask that hides our true personality and characteristic. 2. the ordering of the episodes also plays a very big part in the drama. The film illustrates an example of infidelity by the way of flashback in the beginning. the scriptwriter chose this way to present us the typical case of how it happens. Another reason is for us to better understand the whole film as it goes to the end. 3.yes, There is a scene and images that are repeated, like the scenes before every episode start, I think it foreshadows what is going to happen in both of the characters. The same car is also used by each characters, I guess it indicates as a symbol of home and the characters might experience different conflicts in their lives. 4. definitely yes 5. the film used a dark color to suggest that the film is serious. on the other hand there are scenes that used a bright color to tell the audience that the scene is quite hilarious. 6. The scenes are cut when the couples ending their conversation and sometimes when they are arguing or having misunderstanding. 7. i think the climax of the story is when the wife became crazy because of infidelity or unfaithfulness of the her husband. 8. i think they don't have any dis unites in the end because they ram their cars to end their lives. it suggest that they want to stay together until to the eternal life. 9. to tell us that we should be faithful to our love ones in order to have a successful relationship. God only provide his blessing to the couple but the couple must provide their love in each other. Being in love is the most happiest part in the life of a human being, we feel the bliss when we are in love.

Are there any motifs (scenes, images) of dialogue which are repeated? What purpose do they serve? [glow=red,2,300]- Yes. The one in which the wife asks her husband what he feels. Answer:
Sagot:

1.The title not just acts as the setting but also a symbol of connector of all the episodes showcased in the film. It is a foreshadowing that makes the appropriate mood and atmosphere for the whole plot. Likewise, it is on the last episode, that the resolution of the issue was given. 2. To serve as creator of mood in foreshadowing the central issue of the film. 3.Yes, they served as topic-focusing devices and introduction of varying reactions from different couples. 4.Partly, some of the dialogues and natural sound effects may disorient the audience.Nevertheless, it heightens the tension and connects to the melody of the plot. 5.The use of light-color serves as symbol for light-mood episodes, while the use of dark colors was on the purpose of heavy mood scenes. 6. Scenes are cut in a manner that the solution-perspective on how the characters will handle the issue, was given. It is symbolized on their distant approach to the exits. 7.The last episode acts as the climax and likewise ties some pieces of the central issue from the previous scenes. That scene resolves the issue when the philandering husband realized his mistake and just do a favor (composing a song of love) for his sick wife. From that the good still prevail on the part of the husband, and on that the story ends. 8.Yes, it acts as foreshadowing on the part of the viewers for the final outcome. 9.To suggests that a person who made a mistake and mistake-pointed still have a chance to redeem some pieces of their gaps, even though, on a possible-tragic ending. From that we can say, "love is too strong, that it can make wonderful changes on human race."

1. What does the title mean in relation to the film as a whole? - the title itself is the setting of the film. 2. Why does the film start in the way that it does? - obviously, to show the main idea and conflict of the story which is being unfaithful to your beloved behalf. 3. Are there any motifs (scenes, images) of dialogue which are repeated? What purpose do they serve? - yes, it is the scene where the couples are driving along north diversion road, it is to show the different arguments happening that corresponds to the place being highlighted. 4. Is sound used in any vivid ways either to enhance the film? (i.e. Enhance drama, heighten tension or conflict, disorient the viewer, etc.) - it somehow develop the mood of the story in the different scenes. 5. How does the film use color or light/dark to suggest tone and mood in different scenes? - variation of color and lighting were used to set the mood of the different scenes wherein dark colored lighting were used to set the as serious or down side of the story and in contrast light colored settings represented the "not that serious" arguments. 6. How and when are scenes cut? Are there any patterns in the way the cuts function? - scenes were cut as the couples stops quarreling and yes there is a pattern in the story. Every scene, the couple always argue about the man having another affair and ends up being guilty. 7. What specific scene constitutes the film's climax? How does this scene resolve the central issue of the film? - as of my interpretation the climax of the film is when the confrontation of both parties was constituted. for the resolution, the husband, being guilty as he is, chose to reconcile with his wife. 8. Does the film leave any disunities (loose ends) at the end? If so, what does it suggest? - somehow, I think there is a loose end. How come did they resolve the conflict between them? Is it because of love? or for the sake of being called a "couple"? Maybe, this only means that there are still lots of angle to be looked upon and be cleared out.^^ 9. Why does the film conclude on this particular image? - to impart the importance of being faithful to your beloved one.

How and when are scenes cut? Are there any patterns in the way the cuts function? waahhh. i didn't see any pattern. the scenes are cut when one couple decides to die, or the car stopped... or after it it said that the man has another woman. 7. What specific scene constitutes the film's climax? How does this scene resolve the central issue of the film? love, forgiveness and acceptance. it's the part when the woman tells his husband that may can take care of him when she's gone, the song, and the tears of the man 8. Does the film leave any disunities (loose ends) at the end? If so, what does it suggest? i only remembered the scene when they talked about the illness of the woman and the guy is crying. don't cheat especially when you now that your other half is loyal to you and loves you. arrggghhh... 9. Why does the film conclude on this particular image? the bad effects of cheating on a relationship. if you can't be loyal. better not enter into a relationship. ~LivEviL~
