1. I really like the film because we can have a chance to see the history, the life of rizal and the filipino people when spaniards came to our country.
2. Yes i agree with the main purpose of the film. To have an outlook of rizal and his brave doings.
3. I like most in this film is the part that when rizal is defending what are the rights of a filipino. What can a ordinary filipino people can do to help our country. That we must not be satisfied of being a slaves of other country. We can have freedom if we have unity and the courage to conquer what is ours.
4. the lessons that i have learned in this film was if you want your goal to be met, like rizal on his doings, he show that anyone can have a freedom to express what he can do to help and to unite people. To broaden their mind what are the negative works of the spaniards. Even risking his own life for the benefit of our country. Another is that rizal is so brave and have a focus on his goals.
5. Yes, all the cast, production did a great job even its a short history of what are the doings of rizal and the filipino people in that time.
6. Maybe i can recommend to have it longer to see all of he doings and the courage of filipino people and rizal.

Movie REview
1. Did you like this film in general? Why? -I first was introduced to this movie when I was in elementary grade and had no interest of whatsoever because I could not understand the flow of the story back then, for I have not read Noli and El Fili, but this time it was in a different league as it was before. It was strikingly and surprisingly likeable. Maybe not for everyone, but at the least for me.
2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? I do agree. That the main theme presented in the film was who were, where did, and what was done during Rizal’s life, How unequally he was treated during his trials, and what he did for him to be recognized as a National Hero.
3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? I was really caught with how the director, together with Rizal’s writings and life, was able to connect and relate the characters, events in his novels and Rizal’s life. The only thing I disliked about the movie was how the movie ended, Rizal being charged guilty and being executed.
4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? That revenge will result to more revenge. And that would lead to bloodshed and war. That a single person could make a difference, not because of his achievements and awards, but by his actions, hope and faith.
5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? The whole crew was able to do a very good film. First and foremost, the proper enunciation of the Spanish words were very much remarkable, since it was only done for the movie, they were able to relate the message, script, with full emotions and life. The Director, especially, did a great job with how he connected Rizal’s works to his life.
6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved? It would be better if it was revived by today’s artists and directors, so that it would be better appealing to the youth today. And with this, they can be exposed to the real history and be entertained, at the same time learn about who Rizal was, are, and will be.

1. Did you like this film in general? Why? Yes, I do like the film in general because it shows how courageous our Filipino countrymen are to fight for our freedom. The film shows reasons for us to be proud of our country and us as Filipinos. Watching a film about the life story of Dr. Jose Rizal is a good source of inspiration for us youth. 2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? Yes, highly agree with the main theme/ purpose that the film wants to convey because it reflects the sufferings of our countrymen to achieve our freedom. That makes the film viewers appreciate the freedom that we experiencing right now and make them realize that we have to make a share to make this country a better one. 3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? I like the film in general but what I really like most is how the film correlates the novels of Rizal to the events that Rizal and our country are experiencing. With this strategy of the film I appreciate more the writings of Dr. Jose Rizal. 4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? The lesson that I have learned from the movie is that before we can help to make a change for our country, we must first learn to know ourselves better, to love and respect ourselves. Because if we do other people will also respect us. The other lesson I have learned is that if you believe in something you should fight for it without hesitation. Enemies are inspiration to fight and not a mode of fear 5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? Yes the whole cast and crew of the movie did a great job. The actors portray the roles effectively; they even speak Spanish very well. The setting of the movie was good, it carries the whole movie, and while watching the movie it seems your back in the Spanish era. The effort in making this movie is highly appreciated. 6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved? I will not recommend any changes to further enchance the quality of the film because the film already had a great quality. May be I would suggest another movie that is more detailed.

Domingo,Mar Joseph Don Zacharias C. BSN016 Movie review
1. Did you like this film in general? Why? Generally, the film is absolutely great. It has moved me a lot. Depicting the life of Jose Rizal from childhood to his death can be seen chronologically. The flashbacks add effects and life to the film .The film has inspired me to have a change that change would start from me—simple acts like writing can be a big change to everyone. The film has so many strengths to see, One of the strengths of Jose Rizal is the incorporation of the characters of Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo in the life of Rizal and of the Filipinos in general. This only shows that the two books are reflections of the lives of the Filipinos during the Spanish regime. But the thought and noble ideas of the book do not only live in the past but also in the present manifesting the universality and immortality of Rizal's ideas. The beautiful transition of Rizal's time and the setting of the two novels is really impressive. One must have really read the books to better appreciate the movie Jose Rizal.
2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? The main purpose of the film Rizal is to inspire not only the youths but everyone who is citizen of the country. It conveys to the people that anyone can be a hero for his/her own country as long as you have showed compassion and genuine heart on how to serve the country, not minding your sake but the sake of the country and fellowmen.
3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? I particularly love the last scene of the film when Rizal, excellently played by Cesar Montano by the way, fell in the ground facing the sky, having his last breath looking at a beautiful sunrise- a metaphor depicting that Rizal did not die in vain. He is not afraid to die for his country. He did not die defeated because his death is the torch that lights Philippine independence that ignites Philippine Revolution. This is more apparent in the scene where Simoun, a character in El Filibusterismo, appeared to Rizal telling him to rewrite the story. Rizal wrote and an imaginary explosion happened. A burst of light and flame overwhelmed the screen. In a way that has been the legacy of Rizal-bringing light to the Filipinos. He died victorious because in the end his memory and legacy remain forever
4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? From the film Rizal, I have learned and understand the deeper meaning on how to be a genuine Filipino. Being a Filipino is not only in words but also in deeds and in heart. It has opened my eyes on what is the situation of my country during Spanish era. The scenes have moved me on the circumstances of the Filipinos during those times.
5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? The author has done a great job in portraying the real story of Jose Rizal. It stresses the important details in the life of Rizal, even though minor details have not seen still the story runs smoothly and detailed. The actors, most especially Ceasar Montano has given his best in acting really as Rizal. While in the part of the director, she has shown the film come into life by stressing flashbacks and incorporated the major works of Rizal, the Noli Me Tangere and the El Filibusterismo. The film has made into reality. 6. What particular changes would you like to recommend furthering enhancing the quality of the film? How could it be further improved? I am satisfied with film. For me, it the best historical movie I have seen.

1. Did you like this film in general? Why? OFCOURSE I LIKE THIS MOVIE..!! ;D I WAS ABLE TO REMINISCE THE PAST LIFE OF OUR COUNTRYMEN IN THE SPANISH REGIME. I WAS BROUGHT INTO REALIZATION THAT BECAUSE OF OUR FELLOWMEN IN THE TIMES OF THE SPANISH COLONY, WE HAD OUR OWN IDENTITY.
2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? I AGREE...THE FILM WANTS TO IMPART TO EVERY VIEWERS WHAT KIND OF GOVERNMENT WE HAVE DURING THE SPANISH COLONY. IT UNRAVELED THE TRUTH BEHIND THE WRITINGS OF RIZAL. THOSE WHO WERE PUZZLED WITH THE CONTENTS OF THE LITERATURE OF RIZAL CAME TO SUCH ENLIGHTENMENT JUST LIKE ME.
3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? I LIKE THE MOVIE,I DO APPRECIATE IT. THE THEME WAS DELIVERED CLEARLY. I LIKE THE WAY THE ACTORS AND ACTRESSES PUT COLOR IN THE MOVIE. THE CINEMATOGRAPHY IS INDEED EXCELLENT. IT SEEMS THAT THE MOVIE WAS DONE WAY BACK IN 1800'S.
4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? I'VE LEARNED HOW FILIPINOS ARE COURAGEOUS AT THAT TIME.IVE LEARNED THAT LIBERTY IS NOT GIVEN EQUALLY THAT PAVED WAY FOR THE FIGHTING FILIPINOS TO CAUSE A REVOLUTION.AND IVE LEARNED THAT RIZAL IS WORTH A NATIONAL HERO. HE MAY HAVE NOT FOUGHT IN BLOOD WITH THOSE ARMORS BUT INSTEAD HE FOUGHT IN A PROFESSIONAL AND INTELLECTUAL WAY-HIS WRITINGS.
5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? YES! THEY PERFORMED WELL. AS IF THE SETTING WAS REALLY AT THE OLD TIMES.
6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved? NOTHING MORE.

2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? -Yes. Throughout the film, Rizal's ideals of national unity and identity was clearly laid out.
3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? -I like the film's beautiful and often dramatic scene transitions, especially in those parts where Rizal would have flashbacks in relation to his present ordeal.

5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? -Yes. The script is solid. It gave us the chance to know our national hero better, and it would be very helpful especially to the next generations to come. 2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? >Yes. I agree on how Rizal was against any kind of rebellion and the fact that his novels were given emphasis. 3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? >I like the whole characterization, it very realistic. What i don't like is the part when Ibarra was talking to Rizal, it's a bit confusing. 4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? >I have learned to remember Rizal not only for his heroic acts but also from his novels and writings which opened the eyes of the Filipinos before. I don't think someone as brave as he is would do that nowadays. 5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? >Yes. They were all very good. I salute them. They made the movie so realistic, as if it didn't happen way way back. 6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? 1. Did you like this film in general? Why?
Yes, I did like the movie. This actually was my 2nd time to see the movie and this was the time that I really learned the content of the movie. I was able to understand how Rizal really stimulated and inspired the Filipinos during those time to fight for the freedom of our Fatherland. I understood how innocent Rizal was and how cruel and myopic the Spanish law was.
2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not?
Yes, I agree. They wanted to show the "real" Rizal. They are not biased. They had shown Rizal's both positive and negative sides. I have seen a normal and real Rizal. No cover-ups and the like. I was able to know how really he suffered and also the Filipinos during those times.
3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why?
Actually, I like the wholeness of the movie. I can critic any negative part of the movie. What I liked the most is that they fused the life of Rizal and his two novels.
4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film?
I have learned from the movie that force is not the major or primary tool to gain freedom. Sometimes, even a paper and ink can do a greater impact. It can inspire and stimulate everyone's mind to act and fight for their country even without the abrupt use of force and guns.
5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not?
I give them my two thumbs up for a job well done. I really liked the executions of their roles, the battling of Spanish lines. I liked how they put to life the Philippines 1890's. It was really great!
6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved?
The things that I want to be added on the film is his life in Dapitan, his romance with Josephine Bracken and what happened to Philippines after his death.
