1.Did you like this film in general? Why? Yes I like the film, specifically because I wanted to watch it since the first time it was shown on theaters. In addition, I know that I know little about Rizal’s life and even his conquest and by watching the movie; it did help me know Rizal better. I have read some of Rizal’s books yet I didn’t really understand the real significance of those. Reading those books isn’t as much fun as watching in on screen. Visualization helps a person to better recall of the topic being studied, right? 2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? Yes, because it clearly shows how much suffering our country has had during the Spanish regime; how little those Spaniards think of us and how inequitable is justice for us Filipinos. It also presents the hardships Rizal and the revolutionary people have to face just to fight for the freedom of the motherland.
3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? What I like about the movie is the part wherein Rizal is studying abroad. Many things have happened during those times. He was left Leonor to study and also to continue his battle against the government without having the government knew about what they were planning to do. Sadly, we weren’t able to finish the whole movie.
4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? The lesson I have learned in this movie is to stand up for what you believe in especially if more will benefit from it in the end. Here, Rizal have shown that he fought for this country without hesitation even though he did know that he will be facing death because of his acts. But despite of this, he still continues to reveal the inequality of justice by the Spanish government. Rizal has proven that there will be no change if truth will not be unlocked.
5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? Even though I know less about acting, I think that the people involved in this movie have given justice to the characters that they have portrayed. The director has also done a wonderful job in taking control of the plot of the story.
6. What particular changes would you like to recommend furthering enhancing the quality of the film? How could it be further improved? For me, the movie is good as it is. No further changes are needed if I were being to ask.

1. Did you like this film in general? Why? Yes, I like the film, Jose Rizal, in general because it reminded us Filipinos on how Rizal fought on his own way. His bravery serves as an inspirational for all of us. This film instills knowledge of what Rizal was fighting for, his misery, bravery and the girls that she had as well.
2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? Yes, I agree with the purpose that the film wants to convey because of what i saw in the film it showed how Rizal fought for our freedom even though we were under those Spaniards.
3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? I like the film because it shows how the katipuneros fought for their freedom and justice.
4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? The lesson that I have learned from the film is, we, Filipinos should love our country and we should be brave as Rizal. Fight for our right.
5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? Yes, they did a good job for doing this film since they acted based on what happened for those times. The characters, settings, languages are awesome and fantastic. They delivered it in a good goods job.

1. Did you like this film in general? Why?
I definitely like the film because it shows what really happen to Rizal on his way to become our National Hero.
2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not?
Both. Agree in a way that the film shows the real life of Rizal and disagree because some of the scenes that was been shown did not happen during his time like the story telling while Rizal in the Jail and the likes.
3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why?
I like the scene when he wrote his novels and started to published it. Eventhough it cause great harm to Rizal, it symbolizes the start of the regain of Independence of the Philippines to the Spanish.
4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film?
I learn to become more Nationalistic.
5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not?
If I will rate the film from 1 to 10, i will rate the film 8.5 because the acting is good, the conflicts and climax was presented naturally and meaningfully but there is an addition the story that makes the film not that pure reality.
6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved?
Reality is the quality itself. In order to have good film, the real essence of heroism of Jose Rizal must be clearly shown.

TORRES, SHERLYN A. BSN016 I liked the film because it's great, not only to Filipinos, but to everyone, especially those who can relate with the movie in his/her own way. It was actually the second time I watched the movie, yet, it didn't seem to be boring. It still made me interested and excited. I agreed with the purpose it wanted to convey. It wanted to enlighten everyone on how the Filipinos were treated. It showed the life of Rizal; how Rizal fought for our country; how every Filipino stood for our country. I liked the twists in the movie. It's not the usual flow - early to old, beginning to end. In the movie were flashbacks of different years. I mean, it's not a timeline. (That's the twist I'm talking about, I guess??) I've learned that one must stand for what is right. One must not let others control his/her life. The author, actors, and the director did a very good job . The actors and actresses portrayed their roles very well. Thumbs up to the director who thought of filming such a movie. ;D For the enhancement, well, we all know that Rizal went to a lot of places, to different countries. They should've shown those places, even not all, at least some.

1. I appreciated Jose Rizal (1998) film by Marilou Diaz-Abaya because it is not just an another ordinary local movie but a brilliantly composed film as this is aided by three known UP professors as screenplay consultants namely Dr. Bienvenido Lumbera, Dr. Randy David, and Asst. Prof. Danton Remoto.
2. I strongly agree with the theme of the movie because it showed the love of Rizal to our fatherland as he risked most of his life fighting for what is right and to awaken every Filipinos to do the same and continue the legacy he wanted for the Philippines.
3. Actually, I liked everything in the film especially the inserted scenes from Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo as I've really loved those novels representing situations in the country during Rizal's time as this started the revolution and change Rizal wanted for our country through our countrymen.
4. I've learned to be proud of what I am capable of and what more I could bring. Change isn't difficult to achieve if you started it right within ourselves. And lastly, I've also learned to fight for your right.
5. All of the actors, director, and authors did well in the production of the film. As I've said earlier, it is perfectly planned because this is not just an another local film and also the story of Rizal is very precious for us Filipinos that it is expected to be as outstanding as the main character they're portraying.
6. I think that there's more to improve if the production is handled by Star Cinema because I always appreciate how they produced movies that is always remarkable and earning good feedbacks. But it is also fine with me if it is just Regal films alone as the film went great.

1. Did you like this film in general? Why?
Yes, ofcourse, since first, I love movies which has something to contribute to me not only to a perspective of knowledge but also on glance of wisdom and contentment. Different views of huge mixed anthology on the way Rizal movie emphasizes its meaning and colorful features how life of Rizal being unfold to us. 2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? Yes,it is a picture of fully united thoughts about how Rizal proclaims his propagandas and revolutionized not by using of weapons but by equality and education. 3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? There are some instances wherein the movie arrangement is not that chronologically shown but I know the purpose of its direction but there is a missing part out of it that I want to be produce by other film makers who are good on entertainment varieties. 4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? I learned that patriotism should be in the top of all Filipinos. If only I make a big T>V. screen that can reach every corners of our country so that every Filipinos would know how many people die and dig their blood on the soil just to see the clear vision of freedom. 5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not?. Somehow, the way they produce this movie is good but on a single aspect of it, I doesn't like some part of it wherein there are hops and perspectives that cross my uncontentment that it should be more emphasized. 6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved?
Better set up and actors and actressess. Deeper analysis and longer time of its edition so that it can clearly involve all of those aspects that can be and should be emphasized for better absorption of viewers and Filipinos who should lit their burning passion most specially on their patriotism

1. yes, the casts of the movies are good and were able to catch the attention of the viewers. This is a must seen film, the Filipinos will surely appreciate it especially now that we are experiencing economic anf political crises. 2. yes I agree.. It does not only show the life of Jose Rizal but the life of the Filipinos as well then and in the present. 3. I liked the part of of the movie where Jose Rizal was arhuing with his mind. where Simon and Rizal were conversing on what to do before his execution in Bagumbayan. I didn't like the part where Rizal was brought to the council for the hearing of the case. Since the lawyer of Rizal speaks in spanish, i didn't undsrtand what he said. i was not able to read the subtitle either. ;D ;D 4. I learned that it doesn't matter if you are intelligent or included in the elite class in the society. what's important is the ability to make use of your skills in the productivity of our self, community and our country as well. That we should not settle for anything less but strive to be the best. 5. The crew and staff of the film Rizal made a good job. they were able to convey the message and wwere able to portray the life and lessons of Rizal. but overall, i grade the movie A. hehe 6. I think it would be best appreciated if the story was in complete-details, and if there would be no gaps between the story. but overall, i would grade the movie A. hehehe ;D

TOLENTINO, Karen Ann S. BSN008
1. Did you like this film in general? Why? >Yes, I liked it. It is because the movie tells the life story of Dr. Jose P. Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines. It covers Rizal's life from his childhood to his execution under the hands of the Spanish rule. Also in this film, we are thrown into the world of the two great novels of Rizal, the Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. 2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? >I definitely agree with the main theme of the film. Jose Rizal, together with the other Filipinos had shown their bravery and love for their country by fighting for our freedom because the movie introduces us to the life of suppression of the Filipino people under the rule of the Spanish friars. 3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? >I like the way Rizal did how he fought for the freedom of his countrymen with the use of pen and paper. He really showed his courage and he put himself in the shoes of Crisostomo Ibarra, the lead character in his novel Noli Me Tangere. >What I dislike about the film is that it is "bitin." That's all! 4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? >Just be proud of being a Filipino. Be contented with what you are and with what you have. Be strong enough to show your courage and don't let anyone judge you with what they see outside. 5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? >Yes, they all did a great job in the film! The whole story was easily understood by the viewers because as if the setting, the characters, and the plotting was true. 6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved? >Hmm..I would recommend to make the story longer so that the movie will be more interesting to watch. But overall, Jose Rizal the movie is one of the best Filipino movies that I have seen so far.

1. Did you like this film in general? Why? Indeed. The film aroused my sense of nationality. Rizal’s thoughts were not just simple words rather inspirational and mind opening. The film also embarks upon different issues that concern our country. 2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? Definitely, the story served its purpose effectively. It has shown different aspects that were for so long been circulating in our country awakening our senses for us to move and do something about it. 3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? I like the part in which the Filipinos all gathered and with their might do things showing their love of their motherland. Also the time after Rizal’s death were the katipuneros, with all their might, fought against the Spaniards. 4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? I’ve learned that in this world, the changes, if you wish to come, should begin within you. If you know you are right, fight for it but of course, think before you act. 5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? As for me, I guess they did their job well. The emotions flowed out from us, the audience. All efforts made were also appreciated. 6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved? If I were to grade the film, I will give an excellent mark so I guess no more modifications should be done. The film has its worth in its own way.

1. Did you like this film in general? Why? Hearing the title of the movie sounds boring, but hey it was worth watching. I liked it and understand it better than before. I liked it because the movie is a great interpretation of the Philippines tragic history. It shows patriotism and heroism in a good way. 2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? Definitely yes, I agreed with the purpose of the film. It showed how Rizal and the other Filipinos lived before and it also showed how they really fought for our freedom and the sacrifices they made. 3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? What I liked about the film? I liked the whole part of it. Well for letting the film tell us that once, Filipinos were treated not good and I’m lucky I’ve never lived in their time, that there were brave Filipinos who fought for our future, without them where are we now, and the thing that they showed not only the good side of rizal but also his flaws. 4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? I learned that if you, yourself respect your own, others will respect you too, to love thy country, to be proud of nationality and be proud that there were once who fought for our country. Lastly what i’ve learned is that difficulties are not the reasons to GIVE UP but rather it is the best way to go on along with your life. 5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? The actors did well, they portrayed and given justice to the characters and the way they delivered it were good 6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved? No more changes I think, but for improvement. I suggest to remake the film and show there every detail of what happened and elaborate more.
