1. Did you like this film in general? Why? >Yes because it is well made and editted. The flow of the story is continuous and I learned a lot regarding the life of Dr. JOse Rizal as well as the Filipinos in the past.
2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? >Yes I agree because it showed some important events that happened in the past particularly in the life of Dr. Jose Rizal, which serves as a stepping stone for Filipinos to fight for our country's freedom.
3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? >I like the idea that the story of the 2 novels of Rizal were being shown and correlated with his life story. I also like that they insluded the other things that happened in the different parts of the Philippines while Rizal was imprisoned and thrown in Dapitan.
4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? >I learned that WE, Filipinos, should really be proud of who we are and we should love our country more than anything else because many people sacrificed their life just to protect it. I also learned that you must fight for what you believe in. BE BRAVE!
5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? >Yes they all did great. The flow of the story was clear and there are some events included which are not showed in the other films about the story of Rizal. The actors expressed the right emotions needed and deliver the difficult lines well. They really thought and planned well on making this film.
6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved? >There is nothing I want to change in the film because the film itself is really great.

GONZALES, MELANIE BON A. BSN008 1. Did you like this film in general? Why? --> Yes, I did like the movie. ;D The movie showed how courageous and motivated our forefathers are, especially our national hero Dr. Jose Rizal. The film illustrated how Dr.Rizal awakened the nationalistic side of the Filipinos of his time, hence leading us to the sovereignty we are having today. 2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? --> I strongly agree with the main purpose of the film. More than anything else, I think the movie wants us to appreciate our country. I felt happy because the movie makers gave justice in presenting the colorful life of Jose Rizal. I was really impressed. 3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? --> I like how they made the setting of the movie. With their costumes and the set, I really felt that I have lived on the Spanish times. Some minor points that I don’t like, some sub stories of the film were not elaborated that much, like the relationship of Rizal and Bracken. Parang bitin. Hehe. 4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? --> After watching the movie, I completely felt proud to be a Filipino. As seen in the movie, Filipinos are not “indios” as what anyone else thought before. They have managed to form secret movements to start a revolt against the Spaniards. The movie made me realize that if we want something, we should also do something to gain it. Like what Rizal did, he made a risky move and wrote those novels even though it may cost his life. 5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? --> I am a meticulous critic when it comes to movies. But this one I can say is well-crafted. From the cast down to the setting and the music, all were brilliantly executed to form a remarkable film. The cast, although not so studded, still conveyed the message of the movie clearly. 6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved? --> They could have improved the movie if some of the important characters and events were emphasized more. But I guess it is understandable that Rizal’s life is so rich and exciting that’s why all of the important happenings of his life cannot be fitted into a 2-hour film. And I would be more happy if the condition of the Philippines after Rizal’s death were featured longer. PINOY PRIDE.

1. Did you like this film in general? Why?
Yes, I really appreciate the film, for it depicts how Filipinos offered most of their lives for saving our country and also our human race. Our national hero fought so much in his on simple way of writing about the truthfulness and righteousness.
2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not?
Yes, I agree with the main theme/purpose of the film because the film shows the many contributions of our great heroes in achieving our freedom and sovereignty. They did a lot of bravery and had enough of courage despite of the sufferings they had experienced in the hands of the Spaniards.
3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why?
I enjoyed the part when Dr. Jose Rizal refused to join the rebellion because he showed his own bravery using pen and paper rather than using guns and “bolos”. It really shows that he wants freedom but in a peaceful manner.
4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? I have learned that we must love, serve and fight for our own country because in that way we could already show how grateful we are as a Filipino. 5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? Yes, they did well in that film especially the actors and actresses in performing their roles although the film skipped some of the important events in our history but in general, they did a good job.
6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved? I suggest that they must include in the film some other important events that happened in the past that really contributes in the achievement of the independence.

1. Did you like this film in general? Why? Yes, i really like the film. It shows the sacrifices and hardship of all the filipinos under the management of the spaniards. descrimination is very obvious in this movie.
2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? yes. i strongly agree with the theme of this movie. This movie shows the discrimination between the spaniards and the filipinos in their time. The purpose also of this movie, is to show how great our heroes to fight for our freedom.
3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? i like the time when jose rizal is studying, wherein his classmate who is an spaniard said that filipinos are small so they usually follows the spaniards.. Rizal answer him back regaining the pride of the filipinos. Here it shows that being knowledgeable doesnt depend on the physical appearnce of a person.
4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? The lesson ive learned in the film is to fight for our freedom in a good way.. like what rizal has done.
5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? yes. they all do a great job. Cesar montano is a great actor, he portrays jose rizal as real as it seems to be the real jose rizal. the plotting of the story is nice, they all correlate the life of jose rizal and also his writings.
6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved? i think there is no need for other changes in this film. it is so good, the clothes, venues, props is perfect. [/quote]

Evaluation Questions on Jose Rizal Movie?
1. Did you like this film in general? Why? Well, yes I like the film… technically because it was not cheaply done; the production of the movie is like of an international movie. The movie conveys the story very nicely and I appreciated our history more because of this film.
2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? I agree with the themes presented in the film. The most important theme that I picked up on the movie was equality, justice and education. Because to me, If there is no equality there’s hatred, if there is no justice there is no peace and if there is no education there will be ignorance.
3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? What I like about the film was how they portrayed rizal. As this funny(pilosopo in tagalog?) and intelligent person who has such great compassion for his country. The things that I dislike in the movie was the unnecessary scenes of singing and the romantic scene of rizal with his COUSIN, I cant wait for it to get over!.
4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? I think I’ve learned that intelligence is dangerous but so is ignorance.
5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? Every actor was good, they fitted their roles very well especially cesar montano who has such a striking appearance of dr. jose rizal. The writer did a good job too because the dialogues were neat as well as the director.
6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved? I don’t want to suggest anything to improve the film because I think it’s already perfect.
