1. Did you like this film in general? Why? > Yes I liked it. The movie enlightened my mind about our country's history and how we Filipinos achieved our freedom through our heroes. I also had fun watching it because I saw the "other part" of Rizal which not many people know.
2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? > Yes I totally agree. People nowadays don't give that much importance to what our heroes have done in the past. It's like what they have done was already forgotten. The movie will really help the people realize that lives were risked just to have the freedom that we are enjoying today.
3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? > What I like about this film is how the Filipinos were united just to achieve our freedom. Their braveness made me bow to them! The only thing that I dislike about this movie is that we were not able to finish it due to technical problems.
4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? > I have learned so many things in the movie like braveness and unity but the lesson that I think the movie wants to imply the most is just be PROUD that we are FILIPINOS. Be proud of our country and the people itself.
5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? > Two-thumbs up for all the people on-screen and off-screen the movie! They did a great job in portraying the life of Rizal.
6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved? > I recommend that they enhance the setting and background music of the movie to make it more realistic.

1. Did you like this film in general? Why?
> This was the Filipino movie I have been waiting for. Most of the Filipino movies we have nowadays are imitations of Hollywood movies with forgettable characters and forgettable plots. But I won't be forgetting "Jose Rizal" … It is touted as one of the biggest films ever made in the history of Philippine cinema with a record-breaking P80-million budget despite the fact that historical films are often notorious flops during that time. I really love the film in general. Aside from the fact that I am interested with Rizal’s story, it enlightens me about our rich history, a foundation of culture that I think every Filipinos should treasure. Although we did not finish it, the message that the film wants to convey to its audience is very clear. I owe my freedom to our heroes, ready to die just to have the freedom for our motherland.
2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not?
> Yes I agree... for me, the purpose of the film is to open our eyes about the reality of yesterday, that once in our lifetime we had experienced cruelty in the hands of Spaniards. We are treated as slaves, scavengers on our own country (One who feeds or picks up someone's leftovers) and we are left with nothing… But Jose Rizal did not allow such things to continue, he fought against Spaniards, using his novels, just to have that freedom we are enjoying right now… I believe that we should not forget all the great things are heroes did for us.
3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why?
> I like the film because it summarized everything about Jose Rizal. Aside from the great actors and actresses, I like the setting of the story, as if we were living in the past again, although those original places are different now. I love the costumes of the characters... the film did not just focused on Jose Rizal’s story, but also to his writings... but of course, the film shown the other side of our national hero, he is slightly naughty but has a good sense of humor.. Dislike? We did not finish the film…
4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film?
> I learned that we should love our country, give respect and honor it. You don’t need to die to be called a hero, just do good things to others and continue the legacy of our heroes, because we are all heroes in our own good little ways.
5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not?
> I admire those artists for giving justice to their specific roles, giving a special recognition to Cesar Montano who plays the major role as Jose Rizal. The characters that appear are a blend of the real people, friends and enemies as well as those he created in his books. I was amazed how they speak Spanish, it was fantastic! As an audience, I saw the effort of every characters in practicing such language. The script is solid. Marilou Diaz-Abaya is a living legend; the movie speaks for her greatness. The soft tone of the cinematography helps to create an atmosphere of magic appropriate to the story of a legendary hero. 6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved?
> For me, no further enhancement of the scenes or characters... but I recommend to please produce a great movie like this again... I just went to fort Santiago yesterday and realized that we Filipinos have a very rich history. It was a very nice experience…

1. Did you like this film in general? Why? -I do really like it for it reminds me how Dr. Jose Rizal fought and sacrificed his life to achieve peace and freedom. I learned a lot from it and I guess this is one of the nicest way to bring back the act of being nationalistic of every Filipinos today. It teaches us to be brave, to be courageous enough and fight for what we know is right or rather BEST for our country. And another thing the cast of characters were really good. 2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? - Yes I agree, I think the main agenda of the film was perfectly shown/conveyed for I was able to understand it very well. And also, the most important parts about Jose Rizal was included on the film but I wish it was all shown up, as in EVERYTHING. (Para mas maganda ) 3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? -well, I like every single part of the movie. Actually, I was carried away on some part of the it. 4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? -I guess the very thing that I have learned from this film is to LOVE OUR VERY OWN PHILIPPINES no matter what it takes. I've also learned about Jose Rizal. His childhood, his education, his writings and many more. And most especially, I've learned that everybody can be Jose Rizal, that everybody can do something for a change if and only if we want to. 5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? -Yes they did a great job!... The actors are all good and they portrayed their roles very well especially Caesar Montano.. 6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved? -I suggest that, the next time they will be producing the film, I think it would be better if they would make the film detailed so that the audience would really enjoy it and they will know more about our national hero. -----Bilasano, Klarriz Rabe -----BSN016

I can say that I really like the film because I am really interested about Rizal’s life. I like the way how they shown to us the story. They started at the present life of Rizal & then it showed the flashback that shows the past of Rizal wherein Cesar Montano is thinking back on his life and writings from his prison cell in the fortress of Santiago. The film is also helping us to be educated about Rizal. In terms of the theme or purpose of the film I just agree w/ what they want to convey because they want us to be familiar w/ his life story & achievements. Through this film the people have awakened from their apathy towards Rizal & awakened greater interest on things about Rizal. I specifically like the scene when he was still young, at a young age he had shown how intelligent & talented he was. I like how he excelled in many ways, how he struggled & sacrificed for him to be able to learn. I like also the setting of the film because it gives us an idea about the places during the time of Rizal. I have learned in the film that we should fight for our freedom, if we know that we are right then go for it & we should be all treated equally. We should love our country & we should have a determination to succeed. The director did a good job; the characters that appear are a blend of the real people, friends and enemies as well as those he created in his books. The script is solid & the soft tones of the cinematography helps to create an atmosphere of magic appropriate to the story of a legendary hero, and the acting by Cesar Montano is quite remarkable. All of the actors have good acting skills. There are no particular changes in the film to enhance the quality because for me it is well presented.

2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? Yes, to show the audience what was the life of a Filipino back then when we are under the power of Spaniards.
3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? I like how Rizal fight even he is detained. Because even he is behind the bars, he didn’t left the Filipinos in the skirmish they started.
4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? The lessons I’ve learned from this film is that “fight for your right” And "Be Proud to be Pinoy".
5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? Yes, because even in the short period of time, they explain the subsistence of the Filipinos and the spirit that Rizal had to provoke the supremacy of the Spaniards.
6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved? I will not urge anything, because every person has their own way and ideas on how they will express their thoughts in every scene of the movie.

1. Did you like this film in general? Why? Yes, it was my first time seeing the movie and to know why Rizal really deserved to be a national hero because he loves our country so much that it caused him many sufferings and eventually his death. For me that's the greatest way to die-for the sake of freedom and equality.
2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? Yes, because as I watch the movie I was able to get a history of Rizal on how he was like from his younger years do his last breath and from the spanish specially for a person like me who doesn't really know about Rizal except when he was killed in Bagumbayan (luneta park present day). 3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? I really like the trial on how lawyer defended Rizal because he really know how to say the right words in spite of the decision made. I don't have any dislike(s) about the film 4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? I learned that no matter where I go, I should always be proud to be a Pilipino and I should never be ashamed of my color or race. Also, being not just a good student but to be the best that I can be just like Dr. Rizal. 5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? I think that actors and the whole crew did a great job making this film possible especially for Filipino film makers when budget is the biggest obstacles. On the other hand, I think Cesar Montano played the part and the look of Dr. Jose Rizal. He embodied Rizal to a point I didn't notice that I'm watching a movie about Rizal because he looks just like him. The setting of the movie is still intact where it actually happens which give authenticity to the movie.
6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved? This is a classic movie and i'm pretty much satisfied on how the film was made. I would say that now that we have better technology we can enhance the movie for better viewing. If they can do a remake of this movie, it will be probably 10x better now, but even though it's an updated technology without a great actor it would be as good as the old or not.
