1. Did you like this film in general? Why?
Yes, though it was my second time to watch it, I really enjoyed watching it by heart. The love of Rizal which put him to death just for the freedom of our country is undeniably admirable.
2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? Definitely yes, the movie was coined after the life of Rizal from his childhood up to the very last breath of his life. The love of Rizal for his own country and the life during Spanish era is transparent in the movie. We are also thrown into the world of Rizal's novels so we get a glimpse of how he viewed Filipino society under the Spanish regime.
3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why?
I like the scene wherein Rizal was in the court and they were conversing in Spanish. It made the film more realistic. The main cast in the film has a good justification on the life of Rizal. On the other hand, some scenes were not fully justified because the way the extras acts does not convince me. Some shots also were not convincing.
4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film?
I have learned that in all walks of life. Every people are equal regardless of their status in life. We have to appreciate what our heroes suffered for us, their countrymen. All we can do now is make our own contribution that can make our country to be proud of us.
5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not?
Montano’s acting is very remarkable, with the help of the back line of the team: director, screenwriter to the whole cast of the movie made it very solid, also the cinematography is also great.
6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved?
I just observed that if you are a person who gets easily confused, you’ll be clueless in the film because there are a lot of flashbacks and you won’t know if Rizal was still in Spain or in other place. Maybe during that time, this person would just gape at the screen and be befuddled by these flashback things.

::)Evaluation Answers on Jose Rizal Movie frankly speaking, i really liked the movie. the main reason is because 'the thought and noble ideas of the story do not only live in the past but also in the present manifesting the universality and immortality of Rizal’s ideas'. it tells us that what and where we are right now is brought about by Rizal's ideas. i also agree to what the movie wants to inculcate to the people that everything has its limits. it also tells us that diplomacy is one of the best ways to face problems and violence is not always the answer. i'm not a good movie critic but when i like a movie's story, i watched from start up to the end. i was so hooked up watching the movie that i just go with the every phase of the story and liked every part of it. as what i've written above, i learned that everything has its limits. not all the time we should be patient, we should know when we should use the word 'favor' and when to use the word 'abusive'. the staff and crew did a great job in this movie. i think this movie cost its producers millions and it's worth it. i recommend it to those who are in search for their true identity. watch it and you will learn..

1. Did you like this film in general? Why?
Yes, I do like the film in general, it was a very stimulating film continues to awake every audience who'll watch it, it was a very simple but very straightforward film.
2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not?
I agree because the film showed the unity of Filipino people & hardships of Rizal to fought for our freedom from the Spaniards who conquer our lands. We really and should fight for this because this is our lad, not theirs.
3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why?
I like every part of this film. The writer summarized Rizal's life that includes the most notable parts. It made me understand how Pepe's determination to fought for the freedom and for the justice he wants for the Philippines.
4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film?
The insight I have learned upon watching the film is that, you have to fight for what you believe is right. To fight for right is the best way to do even the judgment for you is wrong. As long you believe that is right, fight for it.
5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not?
Yes they did their part well. They picture the characters as they could even the set to show us how was the Filipino lived on those time and fought for the freedom. They really picture what happed on those time. Go Job.9 out of 10.

To show more about Rizal's life. Who were his lovelife and to picture more who great he was especially when he goes to other country not only in Spain.

1. Did you like this film in general? Why? >yes, i like the film even if i've seen it already when i was young. it made me realize the heroism of our national hero and i also got the chance to refresh my memories of El Filibusterismo, with which i studied in High School. 2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? >I agree with the purpose of the film, that is.. for our fellowmen to remember Rizal and to realize how much we need people like Rizal nowadays especially with our present government. 3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? >i liked the way they portray the way of living here in the Philippines at that time. I also liked their locations.. ;D 4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? >i learned that if you believe in something...and you know in your heart that it will be for the good of many people.. then go for it. But i know that its kind of awkward to do that because we are now in this so-called hi-tech world and people don't have anymore time to express their "nationalism" in their own ways. 5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? >yes, i think they did a great job. They presented Rizal's life in a manner that everyone will be able to understand. 6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved? >I suggest more lighting and Ateneo and UST could look better in other locations. hehehehehe....

SUNGLAO, JOSE ARNALDO U. BSN044
1. Did you like this film in general? Why? - Absolutely. I last watched the film way back in my elementary years, and I have to say, I’ve appreciated it more the 2nd time I watched it. It just made me feel how important, how honoring it is being a Filipino. How valuable this “being-a-Filipino” is for Rizal I may never comprehend that his own life is worth sacrificing for the sake of his nationality. But by this movie, somehow I did grasp what he felt, what he wanted for his motherland, and it just made me motivated to value what he gave us, EQUALITY, a right I will always fight for.
2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? -YES. Actually I saw the difference between Rizal’s goals to Andres Bonifacio’s. Rizal wanted equality, to have the rights as the Spaniards, to have our own identity as Filipinos, to study, to learn, to govern, but not actually freedom from the Spaniards, I guess it’s more of a COMPANIONSHIP with Rizal. With Andres, its different, its freedom, it’s the actual independence from the Spaniards, to drive them away from our country. It’s AUTONOMY for him.
But then, even though with their different goals, it ended up to what we are today, an autonomous country, a distinct identity as Filipinos, a built companionship to other countries.
3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? - The whole film was just awesome; I really felt the actor’s dedication to make this movie classical. The drama, the script, the emotions, everything was done into perfection.
- With the greatness of the movie, I wished the whole life of Rizal was put into the movie, everything, from his life outside the country, his women, his studies, etc. without any “skips”. Cesar Montano just made a brilliant job on portraying Rizal.
4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? -EQUALITY. That’s all what Rizal wanted for his country to have the same right as the Spaniards or any other countries. To live a life and die without any restraints, to have the sense of being free, to have our own IDENTITY, I believe those are what Rizal had always wanted for us. 5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? -They’ve done a GREAT job; this film will forever be a classic, ageless. It’s like Rizal himself rose from his grave and guided everyone to make this movie a stunning success.
6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved? -The cd we used was “giving-up”. I suggest the movie be transferred to other media device. For the movie itself, I suggest more insights of Rizal, more scripts for Josephine Bracken, and the other actors as well.

What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? >i like the part when rizal was a kid because even though he is small he showed that he is not a coward he showed that he can fight and not afraid of boys that are bigger than him., i hate the part where paciano had to be tortured for him to talk where his brother is, it was so violent. 4. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved? > they should have included other heroes such as tandang sora, apolinario mabini and so on.. and the film should also emphasize the family of rizal because he wouldn't be "Jose Rizal" if not for his family.

Why or why not? -They did a great job by performing so well that it made the film looked realistic. 6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved? -It would help if the scene started when Rizal was born or during the childhood of Rizal since it his about his Life and continues when he grows up until his death. >yes, because its about our national hero's life. His story is very inspiring for filipinos. Dr. jose rizal is a great pride for us. >yes, the main theme of the story is about how Dr. jose Rizal fought the spaniards using his novels with out using any weapons. >i like how the actors delivered their spanish language, and how they act as a real heroes/spaniards. I also like how they executed the suffering of rizal up to the last part. >for me we can achieve everything if we believe in our self. voicing out is not the issue, it just give us the chance to be hear and be heard, though we cannot know what will be its consequences >i think that the actors, directors did a good job in this film because the movie was not boring, they gave a little comedic act, though its a serious film, and they showed the main theme of the story > a little improvement in the setting. that all ;D

1. Did you like this film in general? Why? Yes. I think it was a very good film. I liked the idea of watching Rizal's life before he became the national hero. The film has let me know more about him and the lives of the Filipinos during the Spanish regime.
2. Did you agree with the main theme/purpose that the film wants to convey? Why or why not? I do agree with the theme of the film. I think it wanted to convey how the great efforts and sacrifices of Dr. Jose Rizal and the other Filipinos has led to the freedom of the Philippines. The freedom that every Filipino should be very thankful of.
3. What specifically did you like/dislike about the film? Why? I especially like the scenes where Rizal(Ceasar Montano) showed his sense of humor. Maybe because I've always known him to be a very serious person(based on his pictures).
4. What lesson or insight have you learned from the film? I learned that you should not belittle anyone because you might be surprised on how they will react. It was like the way the Spanish belittled the Filipinos and of course, they got thrown out of the Philippines.
5. Did the author/actors/director do a good job in the film? Why or why not? The people behind this film did a great job. The actors specifically were very good.
6. What particular changes would you like to recommend to further enhance the quality of the film? How could it be further improved? The film is great so i don't think there's a need for improvement.
